Airport Fire Services

The Macau Airport Fire Contingent is same as the Hong Kong one, is also responsible for providing the training fire officers to handle all firefighting and rescue in the airport.

The fire contingent occupies two fire stations and one Fire Training Simulator. All fire and rescue appliances which standby in airport can go to any point around the airport in one minute.

The Macau International Airport operations at 12/5/1995. For the whole year of 2001, 3,805,306 passengers have used the airport. Cargo traffic for the year increased to 76,076 tonnes. 

Apart from the training of Airport Fire Contingent, The full-scale emergency exercise is also important too, so the joint-organization exercise is initiated every two years with the objective of testing the capacity of the airport in handling emergency situations. 

Exercise often coordinates by Administration of Airports Ltd. Other emergency organizations, such as Security Forces, Marine Police and Customs,  Fire Services, Harbour Department, Heath Services, Companhia de Segurança de Macau, Lda, Masc Ogden, Air Macau, the Red Cross and Kiang Wu Hospital.

The Flor de Lotus search and rescue ship was officially handed over to the Capitania dos Portos (Macau Harbour Authority) on 14 January 2000.

In 2000, a new search and rescue ship which named the "Flor de Lotus", was handed over to the Capitania dos Portos (Habour Department) from the Civil Aviation Authority.the Flor de Lotus is a modern high-speed ship, it is operated by the Capitania dos Portos and the Airport Fire Services Department, 

Now, the "Flor de Lotus" is parked at the Search and Rescue Wharf near the main Airport Fire Station adjacent to the taxiway at the southern (34) end of the runway.
