Hong Kong is an International city in Asia today; The government has planned a number of major infrastructure projects, such as the Strategic Sewage System, the Walt Disney Theme Park...etc.
Incidents that may occur during the construction of these projects are expected to be complicated and difficult handle and the disasters and emergencies need to be attended to by rigorously trained and well-equipped staff.
For safety, Hong Kong Fire Services Department needed to provide a fast and effective rescue team to handle many incident operations. So the New Special Rescue Squads (SRS) have been set up. All rescue squad members have been trained in all skills encompassing natural disaster, mountain rescue, flood rescue... etc. They can perform arduous and demanding tasks during emergencies and disasters. All special rescue squad members must have 7 years working experiences and attend 25 days training course. There are many special equipments in the special rescue squad for their operations. |
